ITINERARY

DAY 1 - HANOI - NGHIA LO – TU LE/MU CANG CHAI

Hanoi - Nghia Lo: 230 Km (4.5 hrs) Nghia Lo – Tu Le (50 km – 1.5 hr)/ Mu Cang Chai (78 km – 2h15) Easy biking/ walking: 2-5 km

This morning, depart from Hanoi at 08:00 for Yen Bai, a province populated by authentic ethnic minorities with less tourists. There, mountains are shaped like masterpieces, by majestic and sometimes vertiginous rice terraces classified as national heritage.

En route, stop for a short break. Reach Nghia Lo around noon and have lunch in a Black Thai ethnic village, nestled in the fertile valley of Muong Lo, considered as one of the main rice granaries of Northern Vietnam.

Enjoy a short walk or bike ride to discover peaceful hamlets inhabited by Thai and Hmong tribes. Characterised by typical traditional houses on stilts, the two villages offer a succession of rice fields where it is common to see inhabitants working with their buffaloes or more simply, children playing and friendly greetings of ‘hellos’ along the way.

Late afternoon, transfer on a winding road – well known as the ‘road for photographers’ with photogenic rice and tea plantations lining the steep slopes of the mountain.

Upon arrival, check-in and relax before dinner is served.

Overnight in Tu Le/ Mu Cang Chai.
