ITINERARY

Half Day

Today’s tour will begin at 8:00. Dive in to Ho Chi Minh City’s arts scene. Join a local guide for a half day tour of the city’s best galleries, tucked away from the usual tourist trail.

Start with a visit to Duc Minh Gallery. Owned by business tycoon Bui Quoc Chi, the colonial mansion serves as both a private museum and an art gallery. Explore the collection of more than 1,000 works of art, ranging from traditional paintings to contemporary modern art.

Continue to Craig Thomas Gallery, an indoor and outdoor art space that focuses on contemporary Vietnamese art. Admire the exhibitions of paintings, sculptures and mixed-media art, learning about the rapidly evolving modern arts scene and some of the leaders of the present-day movement.

Following this introduction to Vietnam’s modern arts scene, step back in time with a visit to Ho Chi Minh City’s Fine Arts Museum. Learn how artists have been tools of the government during resistance, revolution and reconstruction of a nation. The artworks on display from before and after re-unification demonstrate how politics lead to Vietnam’s 90’s art market boom.

Last but not least, head to Gallery Quynh, a newly built two-storey property constructed to display a range of media. Browse the contemporary works on display by Vietnamese and foreign artists, then transfer back to the hotel.
