Today’s tour will begin at either 10:00 or 16:00. Step into the home of Mrs. Tuyet Mai and Mr. Dinh Linh, two passionate traditional arts lovers who studied at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. Over a cup of tea learn about the founding of Truc Mai House, a performance space for Vietnam’s traditional musicians, and about the history of this unique art form. The family will also share their personal story, giving an intimate look into the lives of true Saigonees.
Then the couple and their family will then give a short performance using hand-made instruments such as a local-style zither, flute and other woodwind instruments. Watch as the skilled musicians create unusual melodies from these simple instruments, enjoying unique songs that have been handed down from generation to generation.
Following the performance, get an introductory music lesson. Under the guidance of the musicians, learn to play the traditional instruments, a challenging but fun experience that is sure to create some laughter.
